In this guide, we will show how to use Launch X431 IMMO Plus, IMMO Elite / IMMO Pro with X-PROG5 programmer to add a new smart key for a 2023 Toyota Venza in disassembly mode.
Important Notes Before Starting
Before performing the key programming procedure, please pay attention to the following points:
When reading the immobilizer data, the BA/4A wiring harness is required. Connect the harness according to the wiring diagram provided by the device.
This function is designed to read the immobilizer data from the vehicle smart box. After obtaining the data, technicians can perform related immobilizer functions without requiring a password.
Note: A stable network connection is required during this operation. Make sure the Launch X431 IMMO device has a reliable internet connection before starting.
When matching a new smart key, the system supports a maximum of 6 keys. Please complete each operation within the required time limit to ensure successful key learning.
1. Generate Remote with X431 XPROG5
First, connect the Launch X431 IMMO programmer and X431 X-PROG5 using the blue USB cable included in the XPROG5 package.
Turn on the X431 tablet and go to [Key Programming] → [Vehicle Remote] → [ASIA] → [Toyota] → [All Remotes] → [Generate]
Place the original Toyota key into the car key slot of Launch G5.
Wait until the remote generation process is completed successfully.
2. Read Immobilizer Data with BA/4A Wiring Harness
Next, enter the IMMO function from the main menu.
Select [TOYOTA] → [Toyota Anti-theft Diagnostic Software (For example V10.70)] → [Immobilizer/Keys Programming] → [System Mode] → [Entry & Start (Smart Key Programming)] → [Type 11] → [Read Immobilizer Data → Wiring Diagram]
Follow the wiring diagram displayed on the device and connect the BA/4A wiring harness correctly.
Then connect:
The OBD connector to the vehicle’s OBD port
The anti-theft box adapter cable to the corresponding position inside the vehicle
After completing the connection, select [Read Immobilizer Data (BA/4A Wiring Harness)]
Make sure X431 IMMO Elite, IMMO Plus, or IMMO Pro is connected to a stable network.
Enter a file name to save the immobilizer data.
The IMMO data backup will be completed successfully.
3. Add Smart Key
After reading the immobilizer data, return to the previous menu and select [Add Smart Key]
Turn on the ignition and confirm that the VIN information is correct.
Select the BIN file saved during Step 2.
Keep a matched key close to the vehicle’s Start button.
Wait until the system confirms that the new smart key has been successfully programmed.
