Problem
When performing diagnostics on a 2021 Mercedes-Benz W213 with Launch X431 diagnostic tools, some users may receive the message “This function is not activated.”
This usually means that the required Mercedes-Benz gateway access license has not been activated on the device.
Solution
To access Mercedes-Benz gateway functions, a Mercedes-Benz Gateway License (1 year) is required.
Please note that the Mercedes-Benz gateway access license cannot be purchased separately. It is included in the European SGW Function License package, which is available through the Launch Mall. The package price is $1,151.
Important Note
The European SGW Function License can only be activated on devices registered for European users.
Devices registered under non-European regions cannot activate this license.
