This guide shows how to perform throttle valve stop position learning on a 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLC 253 using LAUNCH X431 diagnostic tablet. The procedure can help restore the correct throttle position after throttle-related service or fault repair.

Throttle Valve Relearn Procedure
The following example uses LAUNCH X431 PRO3 LINK HD (X431 V+ SmartLink HD).
1. From the main menu, tap Local Diagnose.
2. Select [Mercedes] → [Mercedes-Benz V50.57 or above version] → [Automatically Search]
Check that the VIN detected by the diagnostic tool is correct.
Continue and verify that the VIN, vehicle model and SYSCFGS ID are correct.
3. Perform a scan of all vehicle systems.
Then follow this path [ECM] → [N3/10 (ME-SPI [ME] control unit)] → [Special Function] → ]+Teach-in processes[ → [Teaching in the components] → [Teach in of throttle valve stop]
4. Read the instructions displayed by the X431.
Operate the vehicle as instructed and wait until the relevant data streams reach the required standard values.
5. Once the required conditions are met, tap Continue.
6. Read the instructions on the screen.
When ready, tap START to begin the throttle valve teach-in process.
7. The X431 will begin performing the throttle valve position learning.
Wait while the teach-in process is running.
8. When the process is completed, the diagnostic tool will display a successful completion message.
The throttle valve teach-in has now been completed.
9. After the teach-in procedure, the X431 V+ SmartLINK HD performs the control unit reset.
The throttle valve relearn procedure for the 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLC 253 is then completed.
