In this guide, we’ll show you how to perform a DPF regeneration on a Western Star using the Launch CRP129 HD Elite diagnostic tool.
Procedure:
Properly connect the Launch CRP129 HD Elite tablet to the vehicle.
From the main menu, go to:
Reset → DPF Regen → Western Star → Western Star (HD)
(Make sure you’re using the correct diagnostic software version, such as V10.82)
Select “Automatically Search” to detect the system.
Choose “Engine Detroit DD13 Engine / CPC (SA: 0 / MID: 128)” from the list.

Select “DPF System”

Select “Perform Parked Regeneration”

Pay attention to the on-screen note and click “Start”

Then engine speed is constantly changing:
597.60-> 833.60-> 1283.20

Keep the engine speed at 1200 for 30 to 40 minutes
Click “Stop”, and the engine speed has decreased from 1283.20 to 613.60.

Alright! That’s the whole process to do DPF regeneration on Western Star using LAUNCH CRP129 HD ELITE.
